Consumer Marketing Academy Student Members

On the CMA
Very early in my first semester, I was introduced to alumni working in top marketing organizations who were coming back specifically to recruit the current crop of Kelley Consumer Marketing Academy students. Now that I am in my internship at ConAgra, I have a sizeable network of advocates within the company with shared experiences who I am able to learn from throughout the summer.
My Bio
Undergraduate: Indiana University, Marketing and International Studies
Hometown: Carmel, Ind.
Internship: ConAgra Foods, Chicago
I bring over seven years of retail work experience to the CMA, including time spent as a campus recruiter for a Fortune 30 company. As my peers and I learn to excel in consumer marketing, I am able to share the retailer’s perspective, whose understanding is critical to successfully getting products to consumers. My recruiter background will also allow me to assist other members of the CMA as they prepare for internship and full time interviews on campus.
Through the CMA I’ve been able to:
- Learn about marketing positions in a number of fields (consumer products, durables, pharmaceuticals, etc.) and visit a vast array of companies while bonding with my classmates on the annual CMA bus tour
- Stretch myself as a marketer through the CMA spring project while delivering recommendations for a real-life business problem for one of the top food companies in America
- Experience presentations and interact with executives at all levels, allowing me to make a more informed decision for where my Kelley marketing degree will take me
Know that you get out what you put in—so take full advantage of the amazing opportunities available to you through the CMA and Kelley School of Business.
