It’s no wonder that Ping Poulsen was invited to serve on the Industry Advisory Board for CBLS—she is the founder of Safis Solutions, a regulatory compliance consulting company serving pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech companies worldwide to ensure health authority requirements are met. This Indianapolis-based company has been serving life sciences clients both inside and outside of the IU system for more than seven years.

As a board member, Poulsen frequently provides CBLS with input about issues and opportunities relating to the life sciences industry. She has been a guest speaker for several classes of MBA and undergraduate students at the Kelley School of Business, where she has addressed topics including FDA regulations and compliance issues; challenges facing pharmaceutical, biotech, and devices companies; and topics related to entrepreneurial success. Poulsen takes her interactions with the students very seriously because she feels that the future is in their hands. “I share my experiences with them so that they are better equipped to contribute to a better and stronger economy,” she says.

Poulsen believes that her business’ relationship with CBLS has been invaluable and feels that any firm in the life sciences industry would benefit from similar involvement. “We have the privilege of participating in numerous events that allow us to develop strong relationships with representatives throughout the Indiana life sciences community,” she says. “These networking opportunities, as well as our active involvement in speaking to student associates in the CBLS program, have been an important tool for our continued success and growth as a company.”
