Purdue University- Overview
Personalized Medicine is the next “big thing” in life sciences. Actually, it has been here for a while but the clear pathway for even more effective and efficient personalized or tailored medicine is now before us. Much like advances seen over the years with the adoption of the computer and its many applications, and the Internet, the life sciences industry will see dramatic and creative utilization of the human genome map, health informatics and technology, and a much more effective utilization of diagnostic devices and biomarkers with pharmaceuticals. The result will be a “win-win-win-win-win” for the patient, the doctor, the hospital, the device and diagnostic manufacturers, pharma and the biotech industries, the government or private reimbursers and, of course, the taxpayer. This conference will present interesting and exciting developments that are occurring both here in Indiana and around the globe and review how the state is uniquely situated to be one of the world’s leaders in Personalized Medicine.
