- Overview
According to a recently issued BioCrossroads report, “A large number of new life sciences firms have formed since 2004 in Indiana. A total of 220 life sciences start-up companies occurred in this time period, or an average of 44 per year. This is a dramatic turnaround in a state whose numbers for overall entrepreneurial activity generally rank very low among the 50 states.” This conference will examine existing and emerging mechanisms to maintain and increase the momentum that has been building. Speakers and panelists representing founders, business advisors and entrepreneurs will discuss Indiana’s progress and the obstacles that still exist to greater activity. Representatives from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation will explain the new Elevate Indiana initiative. Participants will leave with a better appreciation of the state of entrepreneurship in Indiana’s life sciences economy and insights into the opportunities that exist for their organizations to play a role.
