Michelle Schmitz Filipe Haberfeld received her MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in May 2011with a double major in Marketing and General Management. Michelle worked as a Consumer Strategic Insights professional for roughly 8 years for companies such as Toshiba, Dannon, Unilever and Colgate, with responsibilities in Brazil, Latin America, and globally. At those companies, she worked with multi-target brands in fast-track markets. She drove the strategy of different brands based on actionable consumer marketing insights by conducting market research, analyzing business opportunities, and presenting marketing plan recommendations to senior management. She has a solid knowledge of a range of market research techniques, both ad-hoc and continuous. She developed and implemented consumer-intimacy programs and consumer strategic reports, which were the basis for innovation projects like Fruttare® brand global expansion.
Michelle managed regional and global projects by identifying business opportunities across regions that enabled companies to develop long-term strategies. Undoubtedly, she broke the paradigms through her unique business vision, which allowed her to be creative and help cross-functional teams find business solutions and develop innovative products. While at Kelley, she was peer selected as VP of Globalization and Inclusion at the Kelley MBA Association. Also while at Kelley, she worked on consulting projects for Whirlpool, Globase – Inkasign (Peruvian Textile Company) and Eaton. Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, post-graduation in Marketing, and fluency in Portuguese, English and Spanish; she is also conversational in German.
