Julio Herrera is currently an MBA candidate at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He is pursuing a double major in Marketing and Supply Chain management.
During the summer of 2013, Julio worked as an intern for the Global Distribution Marketing Department at Cook Medical. He performed comprehensive analysis of the current $75 MM Latin America distribution business. His work focused on mapping sales rep training information by country, distributors and business line. His goal was to understand how to equip the distributors’ sales rep and maximize Cook sales potential in Latin America. He also wrote a report and presented his findings to senior management aimed at enhancing Cook Medical’s presence in Latin America.
Before coming to Kelley, Julio worked for nearly 5 years as a SAP Specialist for CompañíaOperadora de LNG delPerú, a large energy consortium in South America. He led more than ten projects aimed to design and implement a sophisticated corporate-wide electronic document management system. With this system, the first of its kind in Peru, this company is now able to analyze carefully and rapidly all the relevant documents related to any problem and thus can come up with much better solutions in less time, at a lower cost, and with better results.
Prior to this experience, Julio worked for 3 years as an information systems analyst and developer for companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Duke Energy Peru, and Estudio Ferrero Abogados (one of the most renowned lawyers in Peru),where he implemented and developed solutions such as ERP systems, knowledge management databases, business analysis models, and project accounting software.
Julio holds a bachelor degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, a leading higher education institution in Peru. Julio is a talented professional who always displays a strong commitment to helping his clients and employers use information technology as a driver of productivity improvement and innovation.
Julio enjoys participating in different sport disciplines such as soccer, basketball, and swimming, and he is passionate about promoting the Andean part of Peruvian culture through the performing of Huaylarsh, the typical dance of the region where he was born and one of the most famous dances in Peru. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
