Rene Lopezvictoria is an MBA candidate at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He is planning to major in Finance and pursue a career in investment management.
Rene has more than five years of professional experience in the financial services industry. Before coming to Kelley, he was a senior trader at Operadora de Fondos Nafinsa, a subsidiary of the biggest development bank in Mexico, Nacional Financiera. There he oversaw over 2 billion dollars in assets belonging to small investors from all over the country. As his last assignment, he was in charge of managing the relations with clients of the recently created Asset Management Division. The first clients he worked with will represent an increase of about 30% in the firm’s assets under management. Before working in investment management, Rene worked as financial risk analyst for a local financial group and then for CONSAR, the government agency in charge of supervising the pension fund system in Mexico.
Rene holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management from the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico City. He is fluent in Spanish and English. He wants to use his time at Kelley to leverage his background as an analyst and a trader in order to pursue a career in leadership roles in the investment management industry.
