Internships

Foundation for Sustainable Development

We partner with the Foundation for Sustainable Development, an organization specializing in international development, to create opportunities for Kelley students to intern in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community development groups all over the world.

The internships:

  • Last nine weeks
  • Give students real-world experience partnering with people on-location to alleviate poverty and generally improve living conditions
  • Take place in Argentina, Bolivia, India, Nicaragua, and Uganda

On their return, students are expected to share their experiences with their fellow students.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be an admitted Kelley undergraduate student
  • Have completed at least two years of college by the time of the internship
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

KISI pays the program fee, which covers most in-country expenses, for up to five selected students. Participants are responsible for their own international airfare, visa fees (if needed), and personal spending money.

ThinkImpact Institute

The ThinkImpact Institute offers Kelley students the opportunity to live and work in Ghana for eight weeks in the summer of 2014. Develop leadership skills for the 21st century while working alongside community partners in a rural village, exploring market-based solutions to poverty. Participants will join a team of university students to discover existing community assets and work with community members to address social challenges. The team will focus on a specific need and develop an appropriate product or service to address the challenge, using existing resources and strengths of the community.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be an admitted Kelley student
  • Have completed at least one year of college by the time of the internship
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

KISI pays the program fee, which covers most in-country expenses, for up to three selected students. Participants are responsible for their own international airfare, visa fees (if needed), and personal spending money.
