Research and Publications

Setting the Standard

The Department of Operations and Decision Technologies faculty are leading knowledge creators who have authored best-selling textbooks, published numerous research articles, acted as consultants to multinational companies and major sports teams, and have developed several software packages.

In the past two years, our faculty members have authored 37 unique books, and have had more than 80 research papers published or accepted for publication in journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Management Science, Operations Research, Naval Logistics Research, MIS Quarterly, and Information Systems Research.

Faculty in this department serve on 10 editorial review boards and currently hold a dozen associate or senior editorships for journals such as MIS Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, EM>Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences and Journal of the Association for Information Systems. This department publishes the MIS Quarterly Executive and a faculty member is the American editor of the International Journal of Operations and Production Management.

Our faculty members are also active with many professional organizations. Faculty from this department have served as presidents of the Production and Operations Management Society and Decision Sciences Institute; chaired national conferences such as Decision Sciences and the International Conference on Information Systems; and are fellows of the Decision Sciences Institute.
