Advisors
Be sure to meet with your advisors at least once a semester.
We recommend that you meet with both your academic and your career advisor early in your time at Kelley. They’ll be able to help you stay on target with your goals as you move through each course and each semester.
Schedule your appointment early
We want to make sure that you’re able to meet with your advisor during the times you need them most, so make sure you schedule your appointment early.
Appointments are typically 30 minutes long.
It helps to come prepared for your advising appointment. With your advisor, you will:
- Talk about your personal and professional interests
- Craft academic and broader educational goals
- Review degree progress and plan class schedules
- Learn more about Kelley and IUB services and resources
- Solve problems related to your college experience
Sometimes it helps to talk first with faculty, family, and mentors. You can bring multiple perspectives to your appointment, and your advisor can help you narrow and define a set of short-term and long-term action plans.
