"From A Practitioner!"
Blake (BS '14) - 12/22/2011
Blake plans to start his own company someday. Although he has received good advice and training from faculty, he wanted to get an "out of class" perspective from an entrepreneur who is in the midst of starting and growing a company. He wanted to hear what the process is like, where to begin, and what experiences to get now to make him more prepared for the future. Through Kelley inCircle, Blake made contact with Eddie (BS '99, MBA '06) who started his own company and works out of Bloomington. Eddie agreed to take the time to meet with Blake. They talked about things that Blake can do now to prepare himself and Eddie also offered to connect Blake with other entrepreneurs he knows. This experience added tremendous value as Blake was able to make even better connections with what he was learning in class, ultimately enriching his education and establishing great contacts for his future business!
