Michael was contacted by an incoming Kelley Direct Admit freshman during the summer of 2011. The Direct Admit had located Michael through an online profile and asked him for any assistance he could provide toward obtaining legal advice and venture capitalist funding for a start-up company that the incoming student was launching for an iPhone app. Michael refered the Direct Admit to one of his contacts, a lawyer who specializes in these matters and who happens to be a graduate of IU's McKinney School of Law. The Direct Admit was ecstatic and deeply appreciative. The Kelley network goes beyond alumni-to-alumni and alumni-to-graduating-student connections, enabling even those just entering the Kelley family to tap into longtime Kelley alumni who have an expansive network of connections to share.
