In 2000, Charles Trzcinka, PhD joined the faculty of
Dr. Trzcinka’s research interests are
primarily focused on financial markets. His work entails empirical
investigations of asset pricing, the measurement of risk, and the management of
investment institutions. He has published this work in the Journal of
Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, and
Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His recent work focuses on transactions costs,
performance of mutual funds, and the performance of money-management firms. In
1995, his work on transactions costs won the “Best of the Best” award from the
Financial Management Association. He is an associate editor of the Journal
of Corporate Finance.
His monographs and articles dealing with
mutual funds and institutional money management have received widespread
attention in the national press (e.g. Business Week, New York Times,
Washington Post, Money Magazine) and is the author of the Forbes Stock
Market Course, a well-known guide for individual investors. In 1998, he
testified before the Finance Subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee on the subject of mutual fund competition.
