Kate (BS ’96) - 12/23/2011

Kate (BS ’96) wanted to give her career a boost and got help from a career coach in Kelley's Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Mike Schmeckebier. Mike was able to help Kate brush up her résumé which was presented to senior management at the Indiana University Foundation resulting in a promotion to Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting. In talking with Mike about the Kelley Network and the power to connect alumni, Mike discovered that Kate’s promotion would open opportunities for job placements within her department. Mike introduced Kate to Gary (BS ’99). Gary was a perfect fit for a job posting that Kate's promotion had created. After interviews, Kate hired Gary - and they now work together to streamline the accounting systems of the IU Foundation and IU Alumni Association.
