"A Real Mentor..."

Chris (BS ’05) met Paige (BS ’07) on the Bloomington campus - but only knew the younger student in passing. Later, they saw each other at Paige’s career fair where Chris was participating for Ingersoll Rand. Chris reached out to Paige and made a point of giving her insights on Ingersoll Rand and suupported her by recommending an interview. Paige joined the company then, a year later, accepted a role within the same unit as Chris. Once again, the two were re-connected. Now they have worked together four years and enjoy a strong peer-mentor relationship. Countless times Chris has been approached by Paige to counsel her on decisions such as whether to change her career path, how to approach a specific project, or when to consider graduate school. The role of mentor has been meaningful and satisfying for Chris.
