Associate Professor of Business Law Jamie Darin Prenkert earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude with honors in Political Science, from Anderson University. Prior to joining the Kelley School faculty, Professor Prenkert was a senior trial attorney for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. While at the EEOC, Professor Prenkert was awarded a Heyman Fellowship by the Harvard Law School Program on Government Service. Prior to that, Professor Prenkert was an associate in the law firm of Baker & Daniels. Professor Prenkert’s research focuses on employment discrimination and harassment law, the regulation of religion in business and education, anti-retaliation protections in the employment context, and alternative dispute resolution. His scholarship has earned national and regional awards from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (“ALSB”) and has appeared in leading labor and employment law journals. Professor Prenkert serves on the editorial board of the American Business Law Journal and is an officer in the Employment Law Section of the ALSB. His teaching honors include the 2007 Harry C. Sauvain Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, the 2005 Academy of Legal Studies in Business Master Teacher Award, and the 2004 Kelley School of Business Innovative Teaching Award. During the last two fall semesters, Professor Prenkert traveled to India with his students in the Kelley School’s Sophomore Block program. He accompanied 20 undergraduate students to Ghana, West Africa, during spring break 2008, as part of the Kelley Emerging Markets program. Professor Prenkert is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hoosier Hills Food Bank and the Session of the First Presbyterian Church in Bloomington.
